Abby Edwards is a multidisciplinary artist based in Savannah, Georgia. Her practice is rooted in absurdist humor and childlike curiosity. She creates small to large-scale pieces, including weapons of mass imagination, fantastical inventions, and ginormous public pencils. Using play as a form of protest she creates imaginative work that encourages viewers to break free from conventional norms, and reconnect with their sense of wonder. Her work has been exhibited at venues including the Jepson Center, Otis S. Johnson Cultural Arts Center, ARTS Southeast, Gallery 2424, the Thompson Savannah, and Gutstein Gallery in Savannah; the Lamar Dodd Art Center in LaGrange; Westobou in Augusta; ATHICA in Athens, Georgia, and Artfields in Lake City, South Carolina.
